Jackpot - A prize fund awarded to a player who meets a set of predetermined requirements. For example, some casinos will give a jackpot to someone who gets four-of-a-kind or higher and loses.

Jackpot Poker - A form of poker in which the cardroom or casino offers a jackpot to a player who has lost with a really big hand (usually Aces full or better).

Jacks-or-better - A form of poker in which a player needs to have at least a pair of jacks to open the betting.

Jackson Fives - A starting hand in holdem where a player holds Jack Five or a completed hand of two pair Jacks and Fives, also known as Motown.

Jack it - To raise someone's bet.

Jesus - Nickname of Chris Ferguson.

Johnny - (or Jake or Jacques or Knave) A Jack.

Jam - To actually make the hand you were planing to make.

Jesse James - A pot stealer. A bluffer.

Joker wild - All poker variations in which the joker is wild. A wild card is a card that can serve as a substitute to any other card of any suit or rank.

Juice - Money collected by the house. Also called rake.
