Poker Lexicon - Poker Terms Beginning With 'V'
Valet - A jack.
Variance - The measure of the flux a player’s bankroll goes through.
Verbal bet - A bet made orally.
Victory roll - A victory rip; showing one’s hand triumphantly at showdown.
Video poker - Poker played on a video gaming machine.
Vigorish - House rake.
Village people - Four queens.
Visible cards - Cards dealt face up to each player.
Value bet - A bet made by a player who wants it to be called (as opposed to a bluff or protection bet). This is typically because he has a superior hand that he expects to win at showdown, or a very good draw for which he can increase his pot equity by more than the amount of his bet.
