Is online poker just another form of online gambling?
Online poker is a multi-player game.
Casino games such as craps, slots, or roulette are games of chance, where the odds are stacked in the casinos favor. When you play online poker, you are playing against other players and not the casino. In online poker, odds are the same for all players - What separate winners and loser is a matter of skill.
 

Is online poker legal?
Online Poker is explicitly legalized and regulated in many countries like Great Britain. It may not be legal in some jurisdictions under certain conditions, and in some jurisdictions may not be legal under any conditions.
Make sure verify the laws in your jurisdiction before registering and read the terms and conditions carefully.

How do I know which games are available?
Once you open your poker client you will enter the “Lobby”.
The lobby shows you the active tables and has details about each - the game being played (Texas Holdem, 7-card Stud, etc.) the stake and the number of players already seated.
When you are in the lobby you can decide on the relevant table, tournament or promotion that will be suitable for you.
 

Many poker sites offer Play Money or Real Money, what is the difference?
When playing for Play Money you are just playing for "play chips". Your account will be credited with Play Money when you sign up. Once you lose them all, you can simply ask for more. The FUN mode enables you to practice and learn the game before you deposit your account.
When you play for real money, you are betting real dollars, the stakes range from few cents up to hundreds of dollars.
